Eligibility Criteria For UP Police Recruitment Exam

Age Criteria
The minimum age limit for all the candidates is 18 years. However, the upper age limit varies according to the category based on state laws.
  • General - 25 years
  • SC/ST - 30 years
  • OBC - 28 years
  • Departmental Candidate of UP Police (SC/ST) - 45 years
  • Departmental Candidate of UP Police (OBC) - 43 years
  • Departmental Candidate of UP Police (UR) - 40 years
  • Sons and daughters of serving retired, or deceased UP Police personnel/ Multi-tasking Staff of UP Police - 29 years
  • Widows/Divorced Women/Women judicially separated/Unmarried Women - 30 years
  • Sportsmen/Sportswomen (Representing or represented a State at the National Level) - 30 years
Educational Qualification
All the candidates must have at least passed higher secondary, or an equivalent from a government recognized board or institution. However, there is an exception for certain candidates. They are:
  • Bandsmen, buglers, mounted constables, drivers, dispatch riders, and other personnel of UP Police only that have passed class 11 are eligible.
  • Sons and daughters of serving, deceased, or retired police personnel of UP Police, including the multi-tasking staff, are also eligible if they have cleared their class 11.
Physical Measurements Test
For the next step of the UP Police Constable & Head-Constable Exam Selection Process, candidates must pass the physical measurement tests listed below.

    • Height:- 170 CMS and Chest Un-Expanded - 85cms to Expanded - 80cms with an expansion of minimum 4cms for General Category
    • Height - 165 CMS and Chest 5cms for Residents of Hilly Areas, Candidates belonging to ST category, and Ex-Servicemen for Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Marathas, Dogras, and for candidates belonging to North Eastern areas, ST Category and Ex-Servicemen, Kashmir and Leh Ladakh Regions of J&K
  • Female
    • Height - 157 CMS for General Category
    • Height - 5cms is relaxable for Hill Area Residents, Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and Daughters of Retired or Serving or Deceased Personnel of Delhi Police
