Army Cadet College (ACC) trains soldiers who will serve in the Army, Navy and Air Force to become an officers. The ACC was shifted from Pune to Dehradun in the year 1977. The training at ACC is a four years program where the cadets are also awarded with a Graduation Degree from JNU. For ACC the first three years of training and the final year training is done at IMA. It has been rebranded as Siachen Battalion.

ACC (Army Cadet College) Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Guidelines
  • In order to join Indian Army Cadet College (ACC) aspirant should be a serving soldier in Indian Army, Navy or Indian Air Force and candidates should have completed minimum 2 years service, from the date of the enrolment. Applicants should not have any adverse remarks during their service period.
  • Candidate should be unmarried male candidate.
  • Candidate should be from Indian Nationality.
  • Applicants of Army Cadet College course should have good physical fitness.
Selection Method for ACC Examination
  • The ACC conducts a written examination. This exam can get candidates into the Indian Military, Indian Naval or Indian Air Force Academy. The candidates are decided on their English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics.
  • Further, the candidates who will qualify the ACC written examination as per the ACC Selection Procedure will be invited for the SSB interview tests.
SSB Interview
  • This is developed for the Intelligence and Personality test at the Service Selection Board based on their decision by the respective service after the written exam.
  • It is a two-level selection procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test has been introduced at Service Selection Boards.
Medical Examination
  • After clearing the written entrance exam, all successful candidates need to go for a comprehensive medical test after the SSB process.
Merit List
  • A final merit list is declared by UPSC depending on the number of seats available for the particular session after passing every level of examination.
